ENJOYING CHRISTMAS AFTERGLOW

Christmas at the French Hutch

Merry Christmas and welcome to our home. For Jim and me, after Christmas when the house feels so empty before the new year, we sit back and enjoy the decorations and memories we've made. Join me as I take a stroll in the afterglow.....

I love to add a festive touch to my bedrooms...

And, on the floor next to my bookcase I found a little mouse, he's like me, he likes to read!

There's not much I changed from last year but I'll add a few photos just in case you don't remember or didn't see my post.

If you are still here, thank you for your visit. I hope your Christmas was full of most cherished moments and blessings with those you love.

  4. Emily! Merry Christmas Season! I don't remember ever having the opportunity to see so much of your beautiful home, and it couldn't be lovelier than in its Christmas finery. One can easily see your love of Christmas in all the details- the massive amount of ornaments on the main tree, down to the sweetest little touches of mice & owl creatures. I love the florals - both the Patience Brewster poinsettia and the real amaryllis, cyclamen and are those peonies??! Your bedrooms look so inviting - pure comfort and joy.
I hope your start of 2025 is blessed with good health and great family gatherings. Big hugs from WV!

    1. Oh Rita, thank you so much. We love decorating for Christmas so much and Jim does the main tree from start to finish, I do everything else. Yes, those are real peonies found at Trader Joe's in December! Wishing you and Will all the best in the new year....

  5. If we're still here? Oh Emily, I just savored every single image, going back over them. Is this the first time you've shared your home like this? It is smashing! A beautiful home and even more so at Christmas. I love that you have brought it into every room, every nook and corner of the house. Even the mouse in the wall! I would love to be a guest in a bedroom so beautifully decorated. And your tree -- well, that stopped me in my tracks. I have seen a lot of gorgeous homes in blog posts this season but believe me, when I say this is the one I will bookmark and return to when my Christmas spirit starts to lag sometime around February! The white wreath, the tulips with the hint of blue (lovely vase, that one!), the sweet mice, and so many glorious vignettes. Can you tell? I'm bowled over! Happy new year to you. May it be a glorious one!

    1. Thank you so much Jeanie for your sweet words. We've been slow pulling everything together and still a lot planned to finish inside and out. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love to start decorating early so we'll linger awhile before putting away. Thanks again and thank you for stopping by. Hugs......

I love all your stuffed animals on your bed, it looks so cozy! I especially love the styled tray with the MacKenzie-Childs Parchment Check platter and the nutcracker. The little mouse reading is adorable! The white amaryllis and the peonies are stunning.
