JOHN DERIAN THANKSGIVING TURKEY

Let's Talk Turkey

Turkey has always been a tradition in our home for Thanksgiving. Growing up and watching my mom and dad in the kitchen prepping the day before the big day makes it a family tradition in our home to this day. Even if I am not hosting and baking turkey for the big day, I love to share my love of all things turkey on Thanksgiving.

This year for my dining room table centerpiece I decided to use my turkey shaped pillow, along with a chicken, pear and acorn. Yes, pillows, from John Derian for Target! These were an early gift from my dear sweet and very thoughtful sister. The pillows are beautiful and I must say the turkey is exquisite!

Juliska Country Estate Flint is a go to for autumn with its taupe color. Using a natural woven placemat, charger, dinner and salad plates for the stack

Juliska Forest Walk leaf plates makes a perfect addition to the place setting. Since I have only four leaf plates and my table is set for six I used two Country Estate salad plates to top the remaining settings

The acorn pillow is in lovely hues of blue/gray

pumpkins, candles and mushrooms fill in the setting

I was delighted to find these copper colored poinsettias at my supermarket

After enjoying these novelty pillows in my centerpiece they will be enjoyed throughout my home for the holidays. If you are still here thank you for your visit.

  4. Spectacular, Emily! Who wouldn't love to spend hours at this table! I have the chicken and love it but have never seen the turkey in person. It's exquisite. (And almost bought the acorn!) They're wonderful. The plant, salad plates, all the touches are divine!

  7. Emily, I love the John Derian turkey and acorn pillows. We don’t have a Target in Gadsden, so I have missed out on all the fun. Your table is beautiful. I love the Juliska, so lovely. I saw the copper poinsettias at Publix yesterday, they are perfect! Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. Isn’t that John Derian Turkey the perfect centerpiece? It’s so colorful and exquisite, Emily. Your dish stack is so pretty with all those colorful leaf plates. I have never seen a copper poinsettia, but it’s wonderful for Fall. Have a beautiful week!

  9. Emily, I'm late. Of course I'm smiling big reading this post. The John Derian collection stole my heart last Thanksgiving, and again this year. So happy to see that the turkey, hen, and other pillows joined your home decor. I couldn't resist adding the turkey and hen to join the turkey I bought last year. The beading on these pieces is totally amazing. Your pieces make an excellent centerpiece. Of course I also love the Juliska Country Manor series. You and I have so many of the same pieces in our cupboards. We are definitely sisters of the heart. Love seeing every one of these images that transport my imagination to your tableside. Happy Thanksgiving, sweet friend!
