TALES OF THE TRAVELING TOTE AND A GIVEAWAY

Tales of the Traveling Tote

Welcome to another adventure of The Tales of the Traveling Tote. This is where my fellow Tales of the Traveling Tote friends and I share our latest travels, projects and our most current events. You will have an opportunity to visit other members at the end of this post and learn about our giveaway.

Kentuck

Today, I want to take you along with me and Miss Courtney as I visit the Kentuck Art Center located in downtown Northport. Tuscaloosa and Northport are separated by the Black Warrior river, only minutes from my home.  The Kentuck campus features onsite galleries, artists' studios, workshops and a museum gallery shop with rotating exhibitions. The museum and offices are located in a community funded renovated building built in 1815.

Miss Courtney and I enjoyed a stroll through the Gallery Shop while we were in the neighborhood.

Local artist enjoy a free platform for engagement, healing, and a feeling of belonging for our community. I hope you enjoy your stroll.

I am already planning another visit here to other exhibits and markets.

The 53rd Kentuck Festival of the Arts will be held October 19-20. I can't wait, I only have to walk out my door and down the park trail next to my neighborhood.  With over 270 plus artists from around the country there will be something for everyone.

Now for our Giveaway

As always, The Traveling Tote girls want to thank you for following along with our travel adventures. For a chance to win this darling MacKenzie-Childs tote just leave a comment below to be entered in the drawing. I will contact the winner for your mailing address. Thank you and good luck!

  5. We don't have much in the art scene going on in our little town in coastal NC, so I loved seeing your photos! I love MacKenzie-Childs' products, although I don't own any. This tote looks so handy, like for taking books back to the library! Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  7. Emily, I loved strolling through the art gallery. How nice for you it is very close to your home. Since I have won several TTT giveaways already I don't need to be considered for the giveaway. The winner will enjoy the "to go tote". Time is passing too quickly for me. I've missed some of your posts for a while because of travel, etc. Happy Summer! Bonnie@livingwiththanksgiving

  18. Emily, the Kentuck experience just proves there are things to do right at home, if we just take the time to participate. Then sharing is something I not only enjoy reading about, but become more aware that others may enjoy the experiences I participate in too, we just need to view things through the eyes of potential visitors! Thank you for sharing this!
    Happy June!

  20. Wow that is some amazing art and also some really funky art! I especially like those first three paintings - such color and movement! I admire the talent artists possess! So fun to be so close - just a stroll away. Have a wonderful summer. I am a little late getting around to everyone as Kirk's dad passed away this last week so we have been crazy with people coming in from out of town and the funeral lunch at our house. Things are settling down now.

  21. I always enjoy going to arts and crafts fairs and festivals. You never know what you will find! We have many gardens around here to buy from! Every year there are various garden festivals...the Iris festival and the Dahlia festival are my faves. There are also Tulip and Rhododendron festivals and more. This year I traveled to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Long Beach in Washington, and all around Oregon. My exploring is on my blog!
