Tales of The Traveling Tote
Welcome to another adventure of the Tales of the Traveling Tote. This is where my fellow Traveling Tote friends and I share our latest travels, projects and our most current events. You will have an opportunity to visit other members at the end of this post and learn about our giveaway.
Jim and I traveled to Atlanta to spend the Easter weekend with my sister and brother-in-law. It was so much fun shopping, enjoying walks in the gardens around my sister's home and discovering a secret garden in the middle of Buckhead. More on that after a few shopping photos with Miss Courtney.
My sister and I love to visit Boxwoods in Buckhead, a favorite place to find seasonal decor and tabletop accessories from their two shops. The garden center is where you'll find lovely seasonal arrangements and potted plants, garden statuary and birdbaths. I once found a treasure here, a large lidded Quimper urn.
We had time for a quick stop in Anthropologie, another favorite shop. I was delighted with their visual merchandising displays. I love finding creative ideas here, on a much smaller scale!

Next was a stop at Neiman's, where Miss Courtney was happy to relax and meet some of her friends.
Outside the St. Regis is our destination, The Garden Room. This is the secret garden I am so happy to share with you. I read about this restaurant before Covid, the hot new spot where it is almost impossible to get reservations. I had forgotten all about it, not really thinking it would reopen after Covid. Well, my sister said we were going! No reservations with only hopes of a bar seat, we got lucky! They had openings since it was late afternoon before the dinner hour. The sweet hostess lead us to a table where the four of us were seated.

Dessert was unlike anything I've ever tasted! A mix of flavors for melt in your mouth sweetness! After this I forgot to take photos of the other plates and coffee.

The guys, my brother in law and Jim seemed to enjoy the secret garden as much as my sister and I enjoyed this garden oasis.

If you are in the Atlanta area you might want to consider an evening out at The Garden Room. Reservations highly recommend.
Early May Miss Courtney and I enjoyed lunch at an Italian restaurant in Birmingham with Jenna and Miss Coquille. Always fun to see Jenna and catch up. We missed Ricki Jill and Countess De Monet. June will be a happy lunch when we all get together, can't wait!

What a wonderful trip to Atlanta! I always love Anthropologie's displays. Their visual team must be the springboard for incredible talent. FInding the Quimper piece at Boxwoods must've been both surprising and exciting. No wonder you love to go back there! That bronze statue in the St Regis is amazing, love the movement of the dress and headpiece. And the Secret Garden....sumptuousness surroundings! From the chairs to the plantings to the food. What a nice treat to be able to get the table and enjoy it all. Happy June, Emily!
ReplyDeleteOh Emily, I loved my virtual trip to Atlanta! That moss peacock in Anthropologie is stunning! I loved seeing your tote visiting with MKC friends at Neimans, so many temptations there! The St. Regis looks elegant and the Easter displays are delightful. Of course your photos and description of the Garden Room restaurant are the highlight, wow, what a gorgeous place, I bet you felt a little like Alice in Wonderland! I was so happy we could meet for lunch, and I can't wait until we can reconvene with Ricki Jill~ Happy June sweet friend and have a wonderful summer!
ReplyDeleteWOW - gorgeous photos. The Garden Room looks like a fabulous place to relax, drink and snack! I also love Anthropolgie's displays - they have an amazing and clever team of decorators. The peacock is amazing. I am so happy that you are able to get together with the other Alabama gals now and then (I am sure RJ misses this this year). Love seeing the group photos of the totes! Thanks for sharing these fun adventures you had (lucky you can visit your sister !!). Happy Travels this summer.

Emily, it goes without saying that I would have loved tagging along with you and your sister. The garden shop looks fabulous, and of course NM is always a favorite with their MC collection. I hope you took a treasure or two home. Atlanta is a great city. I'd love to return some day. I'm thrilled you and Jenna get to meet on occasion. I know RJ is looking forward to when she can join in the fun. Enjoy your summer!

Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores to view the creative displays. The peacock is amazing! Such delightful photos, and glad you Alabama girls will all be together in June. ReplyDeleteYou had quite the adventure in Atlanta! I love Boxwoods. It is always over all the years I've been so very nice. And your visit to Neimans, Anthro, St Regis, and The Garden Room experience was awesome. Your pictures tell a great story and fun time. I would love The Garden Room and will tuck that info away to remember.

Oh Emily, isn't it fun to be out again? And such a beautiful place as the Secret Garden. Wow -- that's unbelievably fabulous. And what fun shopping, too -- it's been forever since I've been in Anthropologie and I so love it! All the better with family, too! And to top it off, fun with Jenna! It's all perfect to me!

ReplyDeleteI've either been sick or traveling - what a combination- during this summer, so somehow, I missed this post. But oh!!! How I love this garden in Atlanta. I certainly need to visit. I've shopped at boxwoods many times, but didn't know about the other things. You have a knack for finding the "hidden" gems everywhere you go.- thanks!
