A Blooming Beauty
What is your favorite blooming plant? If you are like me and one of your favorites it a rose, you will enjoy this post. My favorite rose is a climber, rather than its cousin, a bush. I love the cascading clusters of blooms in different shades of pink. The climber is wild and has a native look with canes climbing high into trees or trained into swags along the fence.
"Peggy Martin" Antique Rose Climber
A lovely spring day calls for a late afternoon tea in a sweet little niche I have beside a gate under the roses.
Well into evening, lingering is a must!
I gathered roses for a bowl to use as a centerpiece
The cloth is from a doll shop purchased in Mountain Brook
One of my favorite china patterns, Ralph Lauren Floral Hampton with its rose florals is a perfect choice
Linens are from Crown Linen Designs
A table for two, I would love if you would join me
Every year I look forward to the climber's gifts of abundant and stunning blooms. This year, I was not disappointed! I hope you enjoyed your visit and will leave a comment, it's the only way I know you were here.

I would love to join you, Emily, at your beautiful tea table under your arbor of roses. I can imagine how lovely their scent is also. I do hope we can get together before too long.
ReplyDeleteYour tablecloth is exquisite and the Ralph Lauren tea set and Crown Linen napkins are also. It was a lovely surprise to see your sweet post this morning. Hope you are well. We are at Grayton Beach this week. It has been nice despite the weather to be with family.
Bonnie, I would love to sit and catch-up with you in my little rose garden. It's been to long since we had lunch, hope we can plan something soon.........
DeleteEmily, how I would love to join you under the Peggy Martin at your charming table. Roses were some of may mom's favorite, but she never had a climber. She would have loved Peggy Martin with its robust blooms and carefree rambling nature. Like the Peggy Martin that survived Katrina, my mother lived a long life, having survived several life changing events.
ReplyDeleteYour RL set also catches my heart with it roses trimmed in tartan. You know how to set an inviting table. The flowers both on the table and in the basket are the sweetest compliment. Well done, my friend.
Sarah, I've missed seeing you, hope some of our travel plans resume soon so we can have a sit down visit. I fell in love with the RL for it's tartan and roses, it's one of my favorite patterns. The Peggy Martin is a hardy rose, I was worried about it surviving our harsh winter but it is thriving! Yes, your mom would have loved this rose climber........
DeleteHow gorgeous Emily! Your climbing roses are simply stunning! I love the free way they climb and drape, providing cacades of beautiful blooms! And I love the pretty pinks...your table cloth and linens are so delicate and pretty, and wow your tea set is a show stopper! What a wonderful intimate setting, with even a fancy chandelier! Do your roses bloom all summer?
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna. This climber puts on a big show in the spring then has a few blooms on and off all summer into fall. I was worried about the harsh winter we had but it wasn't a problem.......
DeleteWonderful...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit.......
DeleteEmily, what a beautiful display of my fav flowers and happy memories of sitting at the table under the roses and viewing all those roses on the fence!
ReplyDeleteGloria
Thanks Gloria. Those wee such fun days and we have wonderful memories. Let's plan to do it again soon.......
ReplyDeleteOh Emily, I’d so love to join you for tea in your beautiful garden with the backdrop of roses. That tablecloth is so delicate and the perfect one for your gorgeous dishes and your centerpiece of roses.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kitty. I love to use these dishes when my roses are blooming, a perfect match and so sweet together.
DeleteOh, so beautiful, Emily! Your table for two is romantic, and your climbers have really put on a wonderful backdrop this year. I think it's a glorious spring this year, and I am savoring each little drawback in temps while it lingers. I don't want it to get too hot too soon. Even though my roses were bushes, I actually trained one set to climb our brick wall. I enjoyed them. I had another set of climbers that were multi-colored (Joseph's coat) and they were also very much enjoyed. Your table elements are perfect for your alfresco setting.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rita. It has been such a beautiful spring and I'm like you and not wanting it to get to hot to soon! I'm sure your brick wall with roses was a show stopper. I've planted rose bushes but had better luck with this climber but I love them all.........
DeleteEmily, this is just beyond enchanting! It's gorgeous. I only wish it came with fragrance on the computer for I suspect it's a delightful, heady scent that is magical. The roses are dazzling. And your table setting is, of course, exquisite -- charming and romantic, perfect for either a dinner for two or tea for two. I love it. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe cloth from the doll shop is wonderful for your rose setting, and your dishes are one of my favorites. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend, and get to spend some time in this delightful area. xo
ReplyDeleteOh, Emily! I love roses, and I love this post! Your roses are taking over which is a good thing, and I love the Ralph Lauren pattern. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteEmily your blooms are so pretty. How I would love to join you. Your sweet little table setting. What gorgeous china you have set your table with. Such a beautiful cloth. Your table just screams romance. Enjoy Emily.
ReplyDeleteEmily, I am happy to feature your blooming roses today at Love Your Creativity. Happy Sunday.
DeleteSimply beautiful! I really adore that table cloth.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I adore roses, both in nature and in my home.
