TALES OF THE TRAVELING TOTE AND A GIVEAWAY

Welcome to another adventure of Tales of the Traveling Tote. This is where my fellow Tales of the Traveling Tote friends and I share our latest travels, projects and our most current events. You will have an opportunity to visit other members at the end of this post and learn about our giveaway.

Traveling Tote Adventures
All Summer Long
I don't know about you but it's hard to believe it's September and Labor Day weekend! Summer seems like a dream now, although it is still hot here and will be until mid October. Not much happening here other than weekends to visit family and a few day trips. My tote friends and I shared a post last month about our summer adventures so I'm sharing a little of what's kept me busy in August.

I love to visit open houses and keeping up with the latest trends

Miss Molly joined me for the afternoon. We saw a lot of open plans and marble kitchens and baths. Sure  makes me wish I could build another house!

Every time I'm in Birmingham I always save time to stop in Trader Joe's. I love shopping there, especially for flowers. Miss Courtney decided she didn't want her pic made this day or maybe I just forgot to snap her pic??? She was a big help carrying every thing!

We've spent a lot of time in our own backyard

I love visiting my favorite local garden shop

So what did I find this day?

Beautiful "Provence" Lavender

And sunflowers, my late summer favorite

Other special days I need help carrying special gifts to loved ones. One being a very special aunt.

And for another very special person, my sweet mother in law.

They both are in nursing homes and love soft throws for the end of their beds, so I look for pretty seasonal color.
Miss Courtney is roomy enough to hold everything so I only need to make one trip from the car.

I though I was ready to add warm and cozy with my new sale finds from Pottery Barn, wrong! I still can't go there with our hot weather but I did find a way for Miss Courtney to help out. She holds the new faux fur pillows and throw until I'm ready to use them on the sofa and chair. Sometimes I wonder how I ever got along without her!

  1. It's obvious how close you and your tote are - using it so often for everyday adventures!! I recently bought huge sunflowers and regret not taking a photo of them in my tote! I also use mine in the winter to hold throws, too! Happy September and happy travels!!

  3. How fun and what journeys! I think the ones I love most are to the nursing homes -- that's truly wonderful (and not surprising, "knowing" you!). Thanks for showing the lemon biscotti at TJs. Like you, I don't have one close at hand so whenever we visit the kids I have to go and stock up. My TJs receipt is never low, but I consider it planning ahead! The biscotti looks good! Lots of lovely here!

  4. Emily, this is full of beautiful images of your recent summer days. You and I are peas in a pos when it comes to garden centers. My summer post is centered about much the same. Our totes have been busy hauling special treasures for sure. Happy September, my friend. Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend celebrations.

  5. Emily, your sweet gifts for your aunt and MIL are so thoughtful! A post like this, showing our everyday life and living certainly elevates the ordinary to extraordinary. All we have to do is take notice. There's still so much beauty in the outdoors this time of year, one just has to be willing to get out early to enjoy it before the heat zaps you. Your garden still seems to be thriving. But, when the cool nights and mornings come, you are ready! I love your new pillows and throw. Very cozy looking! Miss Courtney is definitely a helping hand! Happy Labor Day to you!

You and your tote have been busy carrying special and thoughtful gifts to your family, and enjoying some great retail therapy! I can't wait to see what you do with your furry finds as the temps drop...wait, will they ever drop ??I am so glad we got to squeeze a lunch into August, always a treat for me when we can get together! I hope you are enjoying a relaxing Labor Day with your family, even though the whole Southeast is on edge watching Hurricane Dorian...

  13. What a beautiful summer you’ve had! Emily, I cant believe summer is over either. Your post is like a delightful summer trip, filled with flowers and shopping. Who doesn’t love that? I am so fortunate to have Trader Joe’s near us, its one of my favorites, and where I always get the flowers for our Monday Morning Blooms.
