The NYC Adventure
Welcome to another adventure of The Traveling Totes.
Today we have a new traveler, introducing our newest member, Jacqueline from Purple Chocolat Home. Welcome Jacqueline!
My husband and I have been traveling around our state of Alabama and to Atlanta visiting with friends and family but today I am sharing the trip we made to NYC. Autumn in New York is simply beautiful. The weather was unusually mild for this time of year, warm days and cool evenings. Not a drop of rain or a cloud the entire trip. Sharing a lot of photos today, hope you enjoy.
Home away from home was the Park Lane Hotel
Great for its proximity to tourist sites, restaurants and shopping.
Rockefeller Center
Ablaze with autumn color
Of course Miss Courtney was along for carrying any packages
Plenty of window shopping
Connor would have loved the Lego store
Friday evening meeting up with TTT members
If you missed this post go here
Visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral
A Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic Cathedral Church
The Morgan Library and Museum
Illuminated Bibles, literary and historical manuscripts; early printed books and old master drawings and prints.
My husband Jim visited the library while I met the TTT girls for brunch. I really have to go here next time, Jim says it is a must see!

Miss Courtney needed a little break
Saying good-byes to friends!
Jim and I decided to visit the Empire State Building. These shots were snapped at the open-air Observation Deck.
And, a little more shopping
Bergdorf Goodman
I was excited to see an upper floor section of FAO Schwarz. Lots of amazing gifts, toys and Christmas decorations.
Saks dressed for Christmas
A ride in Central Park
The next morning after breakfast we finally got around to that fun ride through central park. Another perfect day and the photo opportunities were amazing. Gorgeous!
Miss Courtney wanted a photo in the carriage
Our final evening we had reservations at Bar 65 for drinks and dinner. The views are stunning!
Cheers to a beautiful New York City trip. Jim and I found new friends and places we hope to see again!

Emily... what a fantabulous post!!! The pics are gorgeous. I am so glad that I got to meet you in person. I look forward to many more get togethers. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow Emily, you and Jim really packed your weekend with stunning sights and places during your trip to NYC~ your tale reminds me of Dr. Suess' "Oh the Places You'll Go!" I loved seeing all the wonderful sights, the Empire State Building, the park, MKC, FAO Schwarz, you really hit the highlights! Thank you so much for taking me with you today! I can't wait until our December adventure next week! Your photos are truly a feast for the eyes!

I so enjoyed scrolling through your pictures and seeing the fun that you and Miss Courtney had in NYC. How nice that Jim was able to go along with you on this special trip, Emily. I know that meeting up with the Traveling Tote friends was a special event!
ReplyDeleteOh, Emily, I feel treated to a trip to NYC through your eyes in the lovely autumn. The only time I've been to NYC was after Christmas one year and it was freezing! I've never been so cold and I lived in Alaska! I needed my Alaskan parka for sure!
ReplyDeleteI loved all your pictures and enjoyed seeing the fun you had. The shopping and scenery deserves a second or third scroll.
Hoping December will be so enjoyable for you! Where has the time gone? We were going to get together in the fall!! Life is too fast. Enjoyed your post.
Cheers, Emily! Your review of your time in NYC makes me want to book a flight today. I would love to be there in the festive holiday season. A carriage ride on a cold winter evening would be fun! I know you were disappointed when your planned trip fell through last year, so the trip this fall must have been extra exciting. It certainly was exciting for Miss Merri Mac and me! Sharing the time in NYC with the other "toters" made for many very special memories.
ReplyDeleteMerri, Merri to you and Miss Courtney, and of course, Jim too!
Wow, you took in quite a few sites in NYC - loved seeing it thru your pics! Sadly I never got into any of the big stores to shop - so that means I will have to go back soon!! Miss Courtney looks quite comfy in the carriage! It was a fun time, wasn't it? So where to next? :-) Enjoy the holidays - our totes love to shop for Christmas presents, so keep it handy - - Happy Travels, Happy Holidays and hi to Jim!!
ReplyDeleteEverything is always magical in New York! What a fun way to make new friends and get to travel. You all looked very sporty and big-city savvy with your cute bags. Glad you had fun and thanks for sharing the pics with us.
ReplyDeleteYour trip was pure heaven! How fun to see NYC in autumn (with friends!) and still get that glorious dose of early Christmas! Each and every photo is a real gem, Emily -- beautiful shots one and all. And it speaks to the joy of making friends from so many places and joining together to share time. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all your photos of the trip, Emily! Your photos of the shops decked our for Christmas are fantastic! I also enjoyed seeing the pretty fall color at Rockefeller Center. You need to take Connor there ice skating and then to the Lego Store! I would've loved seeing the illuminated Bibles. I loved seeing the photos of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and my tote came in today! I am so happy about it, and I can't wait to take the Countess de Monet on adventures.
I hope to see you soon. Enjoy your weekend!

Wow, Emily, you captured not only some great sights while in NY, but some fantastic pictures! Those skyline shots, especially evening, and the carriage ride are super. I think Miss Courtney looks like she's right at home among the purple of the carriage seat, very flattering! The church, the library, the retail styling, even Jim's lunch, lol (way to go, Jim, getting in the spirit of blog photography!)....a great trip. I love seeing what interests those who travel....
ReplyDeleteEmily, Miss Courtney looks striking in the carriage! It was wonderful meeting you and Jim in NYC! In all my years of going to NYC, I have never been in the fall to see Rockefeller center ablaze with fall color. Glad that you got to have dinner at the Rainbow Room! Loved seeing NYC through your eyes. I can’t wait to go back in December. Happy holidays to you, Miss Courtney and Jim.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for the beautiful New York in Four Seasons book. On page 31, I enjoyed reading about the Holiday Train Show at New York Botanical Garden and showed Joe. Did not know about it, so we are making plans to go during our Christmas visit.
Drool, drool and more drool! What eye candy you and Miss Courtney provided! Wow, your pictures are so fabulous. I have never seen NYC in the fall either and I think I am going to have to remedy that! You made me even more jealous with all of your fabulous photos! So happy to be a part of these lovely ladies and their lovely totes!
ReplyDeleteWow, Emily, you and Miss Courtney did it up big time in NYC. What fabulous photos. I loved seeing all of your adventures. The carriage photo is too cute. What fun we all had. You and Jim make a delightful couple. A pleasure to meet you both. i am off to look at your stunning photos again.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for your most thoughtful gift of the New York in Four Seasons. Happy Holidays.
Everything is so beautiful! I love the photos:)

Oh, looks like you and Courtney had a wonderful time in NYC! Beautiful photos and the carriage ride through Central Park looked like such fun. And, of course, meeting up with the TTT was the "icing on the cake." Nice to meet you and so excited to be a member of the TT.
ReplyDeleteI've had such fun reading each of your accounts of this wonderful trip. Even though you were all together, your photos are so different. It is obvious that you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteBonjour Emily, merci pour le partage de ce merveilleux voyage que vous avez fait.
ReplyDeleteJ'ai adoré toutes les images, surtout les images avec les copines toutes avec le même sac, très sympa.
Happy New Year. Kisses
