HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Celebrating the 4th of July

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays. I think it rubbed off on me,  it was one of my Dads (Navy vet) favorite holidays. If it was the 4th there was a wonderful feast planned by my sweet mom and dad. Traditional southern fare made up the
menu. Dad with his delicious BBQ ribs and mom's sides. Now, my sister and I wouldn't think of celebrating any other way. A menu on the 4th usually reads; ribs, baked beans, potato salad, slaw, corn, and home made ice cream and cake. Tomorrow will be no different.
This very patriotic girl loves to use red, white and blue for the table.

The front courtyard entrance welcomes you with the flag above and we just had a petal shower from the crepe myrtles, notice all the white petals in the courtyard.

For the centerpiece this year I am using three canisters of different heights filled with blue and white hydrangeas

  8. Hi Emily!

    Your table looks amazing.
    Love your blue spongeware. I
was at the Bennington VT pottery store a month
or so ago and I wanted to buy ALL their blue spatterware.
Crazy about this stuff! Now I want a set of yours too!

Our fourth menu is usually hotdogs, hamburgers, brats and
things like that, but after hearing YOUR annual menu ---
I think we are going to change up things for next year and
make your tradition OURS! Homemade ice cream too?
    Oh yeah!

    :D
    Sounds perfectly fabulous!
