I love Valentine's Day! I always bring out a few of my favorite cards and "gifts of love" from years past to display on a tray or on The French Hutch. This year we will be dining at a friends home but I still wanted to set a romantic table for two in the den.
I love to set a table in front of the fireplace. Using a table I normally use to hold photographs is just the right size.
For the centerpiece I am using my MacKenzie-Childs flower pot and ivy wreath. I added the beautiful copper heart and bow, a gift sent to me last year from my sweet friend Sarah at Hyacinths for The Soul.
These round black placemats are perfect for the place setting. Courtly Check dinner and salad plates and lidded chowder bowls
I love the stack!
"Gifts of love" from my sister Iris
Limoges Eiffel Tower and Herend cat add a pop of color
Jay Strongwater bird and chick
Pewter Cherub I couldn't resist I found on clearance
Herend mouse
Stemware ~ Anthropologie
gifts from my husband
International Sterling ~ Spring Glory
gifted to us years ago by my mother-in-law
My perfect table for two
Mercury glass candles for candlelight
"Books of Love" and orchids for the coffee table
Do you love to decorate for Valentine's Day? I would love to hear how you enjoy decorating your home. And, my table will be used this week!
I hope you will leave a comment, it's the only way I know you stopped by.

Emily, your table for two looks so romantic. I'm crushing over the CC dishes, especially the covered chowder bowls. As I set my table for my little dinner party tonight, I thought how perfect CC salad plates would be in my stack instead of the inexpensive Cynthia Rowley plates I used. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI smiled at all the gifts of love used on your table. isn't it heartwarming to remember the different gifts given through the years? I have the same cat and mouse in Herend though my cat and mouse are blue. The stemware, the silver, and the other special little treasures each had a touch of joy and love to your charming setting. Happy Valentine's Day!
Lots to love today, Emily! your courtly check plate stack is stunning! The gold trim and scalloped edge is beautiful. Love the etched stemware and your lovely candles too. I visualize a special and pleasant candlelight evening for you two.
ReplyDeleteThe orchids are so pretty. The Limoges Eiffel Tower is my fav!
Sorry, this is rushed. I have a meeting early this morning.
This is a beautiful, romantic table and best of all, it could be for any romantic and lovely occasion. Beautiful set up, lovely touches (especially the Eiffel!). Have a fabulous Valentine's day, Emily.
ReplyDeleteRead table in my email and rushed over. You always set the prettiest tables, Emily. LOVE this perfectly petite one. I am inspired.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's!

This is an adorable tablescape. I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but I always enjoy a pretty table!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, romantic and cozy! I did do some decorating this year, but I shared some of it over on Instagram, not the blog. We just finished up dinner: filet mignon, hasselback potatoes and Greek salad. A good Decoy Cabernet, and Godiva chocolates for dessert. No calories of course -- you know they don't count on big days like Valentine's! It was stress-free, laid-back and enjoyed in our sweats. Ha!
ReplyDeleteAlong with my coffee this morning, your blog is the perfect accompaniment with the lovely pictures! Sounds like you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. xx
ReplyDeleteHow romantic, Emily. I love little gestures like what you've done - understated decor, comparatively speaking. I never go all out for decorating on Valentine's Day, just a few little reminders, scattered.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Rita
Love your table for two Emily:) I hope you had a nice evening!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Emily! No one does tables like you :).
ReplyDeleteI love the stack too Emily! The copper heart from Sarah is gorgeous. What a sweet friend! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Your table is adorable. I love everything - the copper heart, the dinnerware and orchids. Lovely. Thanks for visiting me!
ReplyDeleteUsually the hubby and I eat at home to his great relief. This year, however, I thought ahead to make a reservation out. Not only was it an opportunity to show him how much I've appreciated him these last 5 weeks but it was my first big outing. Both of us enjoyed it. All that you show is delightful and I hope you all enjoyed dinner at your little table.
ReplyDeleteFrom your table for two to your coffee table, mint all looks so romantic for your Valentine's Day. I would've bought that darling cherub that was on clearance, too. I hope you had a fun night at your friend's house. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThat is so cozy in front of the fire. Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
