River views ~ the Seine
One of my favorite things to do in Paris is walk and a great place to do this is along the Seine. Did you know there are thirty-seven bridges across the Seine, of which five are pedestrian. A view above the bridges or below, come take a stroll with me for breathtaking sights along the river.

Locks of Love
Where visitors leave messages of love and lock their locks and toss the key into the river. Although charming, the city of Paris began removing the rails with the locks and replaced with new rails after the weight caused sections to crumble and fall away

Just a few of the sights along the beautiful Seine. I hope you enjoyed our stroll and I hope you will forgive any mistakes in the bridge names! Thank you for your visit, I hope you will leave a comment so I know you stopped in.
EMILY! Bonjour! There truly is NO WHERE like Paris. Old and crumbling are some of her monuments, but forever filled with idyllic dreams of romance, history and just good old nostalgia. How I long to be there again. Thank you so much for coming by to wish us a happy anniversary. Blessings abound!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the stroll around Paris Emily, so beautiful, and I loved touring it by bridge! What a spectacular city, and Notre Dame, that must be so breathtaking in person! Your photo is postcard perfect!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I imagine that Paris will soon be lovely with blossoms along the banks of the Seine.
What a wonderful thing to do for us who can not get there....I have a 102 yr old Mom I take care of...wish we would have taken the chance to go when she was younger..thank you so much for your site...ive always wanted to go and live there..thanks again...the best blog ever!!!!
ReplyDeleteEmily, this is a beautiful bright spot for an otherwise very grey and wet morning. Yes, we finally got the rain that was predicted. We certainly need it! I think I'll linger here scrolling up and down while I have my morning coffee. March is when I've frequently spend time in Paris, so this post is very timely in that regard too. Thanks for sharing your amazing photos. Excellent theme, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, thanks for you article, I love Paris, very nice the pictures of bridges of Paris.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.

Emily, your photos are beautiful and bring back so many memories. My husband and I were there celebrating our 30th :) wedding anniversary. Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteI loved your tour (and you two look so cute together!) As others have said they bring back memories. Our Paris friend encouraged us (gave us the lock!) to put on the bridge you photographed. I feel a bit sheepish about it now but I'm still so glad we did it. It is one of my most special memories of Paris and I still don't understand why it might be considered vandalism, although I understand about the weight damaging the bridges and such -- but that means that every so often, they should be cut off. Well, I probably am more in the no-lock camp now, but I wish they could find a lovely alternative.
ReplyDeleteThe Notre Dame pix -- dazzling! All wonderful!
Paris is such a lovely, romantic city. It looks like you two made the mist if it Emily!
ReplyDeleteWe went back to Seaside today. I just love it there!

Oh, this brings back memories. I'm like that as well, my favorite thing in a new place is to take a walk and Paris is a wonderful walking ground because it is flat and there is always something interesting to look at.

Lovely post of all the lovely Parisian bridges. Did you ever see the painting I painted of the entrance of a Paris bridge for Shanley's little off-campus cottage? I'll send you a link later.
ReplyDeleteOh, Emily your post is delightful.Pictures are wonderful. I've often thought of doing the same post. I have a book with all the bridges. I have lots of the bridges but not all photographed. That means I'll have to go back again.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of you and your husband.
We've got to get together some day.
Meant to tell you my sister is going to Paris next week and I am so happy for her.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy my tour of Paris through your photos, Emily. I especially loved the nighttime pictures...so dreamy. Maybe one day I'll get there!
ReplyDeleteEmily, I did enjoy the stroll along the Seine! Great photos...especially liked the night shots.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend.
What an interesting way to show Paris. I don't remember if I told you, but for three years, I lived in a street right behind the Pont Mirabeau in Paris. Magical!
ReplyDeleteUtterly charming. I'd heard the lock- bridge had the locks removed and was wondering how they were going to keep the locks off!
