Parade Homes ~ Southern Style
The Annual Birmingham Parade of Homes presented by the Greater Birmingham Associations of Home Builders was held two weekends this month. Lovely southern belles welcomed all, thousands over two weeks. I always try to attend and tour at least several of the many homes scattered throughout the city. It is a lot of fun and May is usually very hot but the hosts always serve plenty of cold water, lemonade and snacks. I enjoy seeing the latest in home design, new building materials and appliances. Anyone looking to buy a first home, a family that has outgrown their home and needs more space and of course empty nesters looking to downsize, something here for everyone. New colors, beautiful landscaping and inspiration for those thinking of building. Be warned, a lot of photos! So here we go, enjoy.

Emily, thanks for taking us along on this home tour. You got some great photos. What a fun weekend activity. '-)
ReplyDeleteWow! You're right! You took so many photos, but at almost 4,000 sq ft., there was a lot to see.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely home. Few homes can rival the elegance of the older homes, especially those from the South.
Thank you for sharing, and have a lovely weekend.
oh how much fun Emily! I love looking at houses and haven't done it in so long~ so many wonderful things to see...I love the sliding barn door look, I wish I had a spot for one! Also love that powder room with the angled ship lap wall...everything is just dreamy! Thanks for the tour and the Southern Belles take me back to my daughters Vestavia Belle days. Her dress was Pepto Bismal Pink [loaned from a friend of mine] and she just hated it!! Have a great weekend!

I loved touring the houses with you and drooling over... the dresses!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful homes! Thanks for sharing, Emily. I love all the modern built in dispensers...Christine
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love to tour show homes and it's one thing I miss about living in Atlanta! There was always a show house to tour every weekend, it seemed! I remember taking my grandmother with me to see a model home in a big neighborhood and she kept whispering, "Are you sure no one lives here?"
ReplyDeleteThese homes are gorgeous. Thanks for the photos!
Wow, how incredibly gorgeous! Each home is truly stunning and the detail inside the homes took my breath away. Thanks for sharing, sweet friend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLOVED the tour. Did you see the one at Mt. Laruel? It was my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWOW.
ReplyDeleteWe have done some tours around here in Minneapolis, and the are stunning. But the Southern Living style is WONDERFUL! That first plantation style home, oh dear, what a treasure! The floor plans and beams are simply outstanding, Emily!
And thank you for visiting my blog. I'm back! Anita
I'll take one of each, please. :)
ReplyDeleteYou had my attention from beginning to end, but that laundry/craft room made me look twice. Wow!
Love that powder room sink, and the dining room ceiling in the last house caught my eye too.
This was so much fun, Emily. Thanks for taking us along.
xoxo
Hi Emily! Oh, how I adore tours like this! What grand homes. Lord have mercy! As grand as those first two are, I kinda like the little farmhouse one best! Thank you so much for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
