Favorite keepsakes for decorating my hutch
Every year I look forward to decorating my hutch for Christmas. I love to use favorite keepsakes, souvenirs from trips, gifts, candles and maybe a few things picked up just for my hutch! This year I wanted to add a lot of white and cream. I still have to replace the red bows with creamy satin bows to finish the look. So here goes, I made a lot of photos!
Roses I dried left from Thanksgiving
Little musicians from France
Christmas books from the English countryside
The Christmas Story
Nativity form Italy
White chocolate flowers from a favorite shop
Souvenir from the Black Forrest in Germany
Hand made wool sheep
A simple centerpiece for the breakfast room table
Galvanized tree and pails with paperwhites
I was going for a really simple look this year. I usually use fruit ornaments on the garland, but opted to display those in a crystal bowl.
Thank you for stopping by. I do hope you will leave a comment so I will know you were here.
Emily, it is always a treat to see your hutch, but especially so at Christmas. I want to study each shelf. It's fun to change things up from time to time. I did a bit of that this year as well. I need to get some photos taken to share. Just so much going on at the moment and little time to devote to my blog. Thanks for sharing the inspiration here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, dear friend!
PS ~ love the table centerpiece. That little tree is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh Emily, BONSOIR et Joyeux Noël! WOW, your hutch is beautifully decorated like a perfect little shop. You have such a seasoned collection of beautiful Christmas memories from around the European world. GORGEOUS! Thank you for stopping by today. Love and heavenly peace to you! Anita

Oh goodness! .. the music and beautiful tour has me all-aglow this morning! Everything very festive Emily:) Your paperwhites are gorgeous. Mine are not blooming yet...soon hopefully!
ReplyDeleteOh Emily--it is always such a treat to read your blog posts! Your French hutch is amazing with detail--I just love the little French musicians, and the artwork of the rabbits bringing their Christmas tree home--darling. We just had a party here last weekend that you might have liked--my theme was: Fa-La-La-Ooh-La-La: A Holiday Cabaret and Small Plate Soiree. I served appetizers and a variety of finger sweets--everybody seemed very happy and appetites were satisfied! I decorated our little tree with a French theme, and had pictures of the Eiffel Tower and fleur de lys that I used. Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteI could spend quite a long time exploring all the details -- and I will definitely be back to study it some more. Lots of interesting things to look at! This is a reflection of an interesting life.
ReplyDeleteYour hutch looks stunning!! I love all the closeups but love the full view in that 3rd photo from the end...beautiful Emily!!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily! How nice to hear from you. Your hutch is amazing! I love all of your decorations and they have an olden feel about them. Hope this season is going well for you. Merry Christmas!

There are so many cute things on your hutch, it's a little like being in Wonderland.
ReplyDeleteEmily, I am unbearably in love with this post! Your hutch is simply gorgeous -- all one could wish for and more. I love that it is so very personal and that each piece means something, is a memory. And all are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI know you know how to have a Merry Christmas -- I hope by now you are feeling at full speed and ready to tackle the season! If you can pull it off half as beautifully as you have made your hutch, you will have a holiday to remember -- and one that all around you will remember, too. Merry Christmas!
Wow! That is quite an amazing display. So festive! As amazing as your hutch is, my favorite is the little display of galvanized buckets, tree and paper whites on you table. Absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a merry Christmas season!

Emily, I forgot how much I loved to see your hutch all decorated with goodies. It's so festive and everything looks magical. The doll with her fur coat is gorgeous. And I love the simple tree covered with snow and red berries. Your teddy bears always make me smile, as I am a lover of bears myself. And the most precious scene is the nativity.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a nice Christmas, and I wish you peace and lots of love in the new year.
