SOLEIL AND DAFFODILS

Spring Inspired

The first day of spring not only brings beautiful flowers and budding trees but also inspires us to change our interior decor to reflect the brighter sun-drenched  days we are enjoying. This is the time I love to change things up a bit, put away the winter warm and cozy for a fresh and brighter look.
My Quimper Soleil faience is stored in my dining room china cabinet. I decided to pull a few pieces out to display on the
buffet for a spring vignette. Daffodils are still blooming in my flowers beds and coming home with me from the supermarket. Daffodils are the same color as Quimper Soleil, my favorite color. Such a fun and easy way to welcome Spring!

Daffodils are my favorite flower

Yellow is my favorite color

Traditional Quimper pattern depicts French Country life featuring a Breton (man) or Bretonne (woman) in traditional costume.

Daffodils also welcome Spring in the kitchen for

Spring is loved by all and a favorite season to many. What do you do to welcome Spring. Do tell, I would love to hear!
Thank you so much for your visit, hope you come again.

  1. Such a beautiful and happy post!! We've got lots of daffodils growing locally (and tulips!) and they look so sweet set in little bunches growing up through the cold, wet ground. Yellow is a happy color and it looks so beautiful on the dark wood. Your collection of cups and tea pot are so pretty and your vignette is perfect for spring! Enjoy your weekend! xxleslie

  4. I loved this post, Emily. We do share some 'loves'. I love yellow any time of year and adore your dishes with the Quimper pattern. I have only found the odd piece in antique stores that I bought, of course. I love your hutch. What a beautiful thing to play with for hours. You must love seasonal decorating on this beautiful piece. I noticed your lovely copper pieces, too. Deb

  9. I love yellow, too, and the daffodils are so cheerful! They remind me of my grandmother because she used to plant hundreds of daffodil bulbs every fall. Your Quimper is so pretty in the yellow. I bet they're fun to look at today since it's so rainy. The dishes are like sunshine in your dining room!

  12. Oh my goodness, your Quimper collection is amazing, Emily! I found 3 salad plates (they are plain, which I didn't know were even made) at Goodwill for 99¢ each. I have one other piece, a cider cup, also found at a thrift store for a couple dollars. Your coffee set is such a beautiful shade of yellow.
    Have a wonderful week.

  13. Hi Emily: Your spring header is so, so pretty. I love the pink tulip mugs, your lovely daffodils gracing your home, and you lovely collection of Quimper! We've had gorgeous, sunny and warmer weather here for the last 3 days, so I've been out in the garden cleaning, pruning and tying caning plants in so they are all ready to go for their big burst of blooms later in the season--if this was a movie, it would be the pre-production stage! The birds have been out and bees as well in the nice weather, having snacks at the feeders.

  17. Emily, it's been in the 80s here the past two days. I went to the garden center today and came home with some annuals. I'll be in the garden this weekend. '-)
Loving your daffodils. I'm always happy to see them available in bouquets in the grocery. They are so reasonable you can fill several vases. it's such fun to see your happy pottery. Yellow is a favorite for me too. Happy Spring, my friend!
