CHRISTMAS JOY
Christmas is my favorite time of year, the merriest of holidays. Our home was full of music and laughter, and now that everyone has gone home I now have time to look at my photographs and cherish the memories we made. It’s time to enjoy the little twinkling lights for a last few evenings before the tree comes down. Here are some of my Christmas decorations. We started late with decorations this year so I kept it simple, adding topiaries, baubles and pillows. Everything will be easy to put away except for our big tree and Jim enjoys doing that. So, turn up the music and get yourself a favorite drink and come for a visit. Warning, a lot of photos!
Family Room

Christmas Fairies
A Christmas cactus several years old, a gift from my sister. A gift that keeps giving me beautiful pink presents at Christmas!
A Nativity set I purchased in Italy for my mother and father-in-law. Since my MIL doesn’t do a lot of decorating now, she has returned all the gifts given to her from family members. I now enjoy displaying the set in my living room.
More seasonal pillows. I love the velvet bows.

Pottery is Vietri Rosso Vecchio, stems with candy canes and holly from TJ Max and flatware from Reed and Barton in the Williamsburg pattern (Santa’s early gift to me this year).

Santa brought Connor a new bike!
What a treat your Christmas post is! I sang along with Andy Williams and looked again and again at each photo. I loved everything, but especially the pillows with the bows and your gorgeous angels...and the framed French Christmas cards. Beautiful!

Oh my stars!!! I don't know where to begin. It's like a candy store for me, looking at one thing, then the next. It's all so beautiful. The "woody" pillow is a favorite - but then again everything else is too.

ReplyDeleteMy family does not love Christmas music, but on Christmas Eve when my kids arrived they immediately insisted on Christmas music for 2 days.

Emily, I relished seeing each one of these photos. Made me feel as if we had had a Christmas visit. First off, I need to know your secret for repeat blooms each year on the Christmas cactus. I've not had much luck, but a friend gave us a large Christmas cactus this year full of blooms. It's now dropped most with just a few buds left to open. What do I do now to keep it healthy and ready to bloom again next Christmas?

ReplyDeleteThese are some really awesome decorations, Emily, and there's no way anyone could be in this space and not feel the warmth and joy of Christmas. The velvet bows are a beautiful touch, the plaid is gorgeous, the angels are heavenly, and EVERYTHING is just beautiful!!!

WOW! Now that was a fabulous tour of your Christmas home, Emily! I loved every corner, nook and cranny! My favorite framed card is that one with the bunnies in the snow with the little cottage!
ReplyDeleteOh what a French Christmas you have had! My home is all decked out in silver and I love the feel. I did spend my holiday out in warm California and it was the best ever. Family is most definitely the best gift to open up after many years of being away from "home."

Emily, your Christmas decor is absolutely gorgeous! Such pretty accents! I wish I knew the secret to getting my Christmas cactus to bloom for Christmas. It bloomed a couple of years ago, in the Spring; and then, last year nothing. Today, I noticed the buds just starting to open...lol! I think it's confused. Your home is stunning! ReplyDeleteYour home looked absolutely lovey at Christmas, Emily! I loved all your special decorative vignettes and all the greenery in your kitchen. Your copper pots made me smile--I love copper! Connor looked so delighted with his new bicycle! I'm sure you had a great time watching him open gifts, as I did with my grandchildren. I had an enormous Christmas Cactus plant that I had to give away when we moved last year. The movers would not take it and we could not fit it in our car. I missed it's beautiful red blooms. I will have to find a new one to grow for next Christmas.
