I finally got serious about replacing my old leather wing back chair in the family room when I discovered the tiny little worn out area at the end of the cushion had turned into a full blown hole! I’ve been thinking about replacing this chair but that was not an easy task when I've been enjoying my "perfect chair" for over twenty years. Actually, it is just worn out and needs some TLC which I will eventually get around to doing, reupholstering the cushion or maybe the entire chair. So for now, the old chair has found a new home in my bedroom with a pretty throw.
Going to Birmingham to a few of my favorite haunts for a day of shopping I found several chairs I could easily have brought home. Sorry, I’m about to take you the long way around, I do get a little sidetracked in these shops. I must say, I really enjoyed “browsing” throughout my chair mission. I thought you would enjoy strolling along too. I found my chair out of many I considered. See if you know which one I fell in love with while browsing some lovely shops. Sorry, not the best photos, had to use my phone.

I picked #6, Emily. It looks like a comfy spot to relax. Thanks for taking us along to see all these pretty things. Love the blue and white jar with the bees all over it. '-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I did choose #6. How could one resist?! It is a perfect chair.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Emily. And, thank you for taking me along shopping. You shared so many gorgeous pieces.
I wasn't sure but I knew it would be a comfy leather chair for sure. I love your choice and all of the wonderful pics of beautiful decorating ideas, You had fun huh? Smile. I would have loved that store or stores as well.

It is the perfect chair for that room! Gorgeous décor and that shop was amazing. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, I love "our" shopping trips!! I could use the chandelier in my dining room, and whenever I see those quimper plates I think of one I had hanging on my wall which was attacked by our cat. We don't know why! As soon as I saw the leather chair I knew I would pick that one. I like a chair I can curl up in with a book and a cup of tea. It is perfect and it looks fabulous in that spot. Good news--I received this post in my inbox so your feed is working for me! I'm so happy, as now I will not miss your next post of the garden shop. Linda
ReplyDelete#3 and #6 are my favorites. #3 is my "color". Your new chair looks great in it's new spot. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI DID guess Chair 6 -- and it looks GREAT! I have that similar hole-in-the-chair issue. I love the chair and the bones are good, but recovering is about a much as a new chair (maybe more) -- and lots more work! You did well! Lots of beautiful things to see -- I'm afraid I would have been sidetracked!
ReplyDeleteChair 6 it is:) The leather is so comfy:) Love that french hutch with the B&W pieces and so many other great items here! Nice shopping trip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun store, and I like the chair your picked. You've got such a cozy place to sit and read and write!

Copper... Swoon! And did I read that price right for the French faience??? Maybe I should change my prices for higher prices!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I haven't been to a nice shop like that in a long time. I was drawn to every chair that was leather...so classic and comfortable, too. And look at those busts with seashells! WOWZA! They are amazing! Enjoy your weekend! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love that oval chandy with the shade!! Where did you see that, I'm sure it's out of my budget but it is gorgeous! You certainly hit the high end stores, I'm usually at Pottery Barn or Pier 1~great chair choice, looks comfy!

I do like the one you selected, but I thought the zebra one looked so cool, I love chairs where wood is where your hands lay on the arms, easy care...Yes the one you chose, get the zebra and footstool too...lol..Phyllis

I did pick chair no. 6 before I saw what you had chosen. It looked like the most comfortable to me. It is good that it has a lovely shape too because sometimes very comfy chairs are not so handsome. You showed us many attractive items.
ReplyDeleteLove your choice as usual, Emily. What a perfect chair and a delightful corner.
ReplyDeleteI've missed you. I've been so busy working with my husband running our new business. I thought I could not blog again and I accidentally deleted my previous page in a way where I could not retrieve it. Blogland...teehee
I cannot create as I used to but I opened a page just to stay in touch with my favorite bloggy friends.
Hope you are enjoying all of autumn's magic.
