Fall Favorites
It’s official, tomorrow is the first day of Autumn. Since I haven’t done a thing in the way of decorating for fall I’ll share with you some of my past fall posts and what I love about the season. It’s hard for me to get in the mood to buy pumpkins and mums when the temperature still feels like summer. Today it is raining, the first in weeks and we sure need it. Hopefully this is the day the season changes here and I can get my little garden tools and get to work in the flowerbeds.

I love how the sun casts it’s shadows for a fall afternoon
Sideboard on veranda decorated with fall mums
Lanterns, burlap, lavender, pumpkins and candles for the table
All of my favorite farmer’s markets still have wonderful late summer produce and now adding fall flowers. Great jams and jellies in all flavors for a weekend breakfast on those cool fall mornings, if they ever get here!
“Ugly Tomatoes” are beautiful to me. This girl loves her fresh tomatoes in any size or shape. Still plentiful here at the local farmer's market.
Fresh tomatoes make wonderful salads

White pumpkins for the mantle
And of course I can’t wait for fall color, but it will be November before we see this.
And, of course there is “game day”, all Crimson and White!
Wish you all could drop in for a visit. If you do you will find me serving up one of my favorite fall recipes, homemade vegetable beef soup.
Easy-peasy soup recipe, delicious!
main ingredients are okra, cabbage, green tomatoes. This gives the best flavor. Add your favorite veggies
Hope you enjoyed visiting some of my favorites from Autumns past. Tell me please, what do you like best about fall?

Oh I truly did enjoy your gorgeous revisits - so many of your beautiful pics are pinterest worthy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration - I am moving slow today, haha.
I enjoyed your Fall photos from the past. Those farmers' market tomatoes and the fall soup are making me hungry. But, I don't know about crimson and white...red and black are my "fall colors". :) Hope you had a good Saturday.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Emily...my favorite is the urn of orange!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week...
Gorgeous past fall photos, Emily. Looking forward to your decor for this year...Christine
ReplyDeleteEmily, thanks for the look back. I haven't done any fall decorating yet, but I like to use rusts and creams. Also like the blue/green or the white pumpkins. Been working in the garden for the past week or so. Summer took a toll, but yesterday we had 3" of rain. Things are looking happy today. '-)
ReplyDeleteHappy First Day of Fall ~ Sarah
Loved the fall photos, but I really loved the pictures of the Alabama football game!!! I am a huge Bama fan and I live in Georgia. What fun - thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet touches....I'll cross my fingers and hope you get some relief from the heat soon!
ReplyDeleteHi, Emily....everything is looking sooo pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt is still late summer here in West Texas but the mornings and evenings have a nip to them....
I am not ready for fall....but, it's on it's way, regardless. :)
It's so pretty here this morning! I can't wait to get started on all this:) I've been traveling and I'm WAY behind schedule. It's wonderful to watch the change in produce at our local farmers markets. Those tomatoes look so good!

ReplyDeleteIt all looks so perfect that I almost look forward to it. I too love the 'ugly tomatoes' because they seem to be more natural than row upon row of perfect ones.
I love your colours - they are warm & inviting. I always add cosy fleeces to my lounge chairs when the nights draw in & you want something to cuddle in to while watching TV.
I so love Fall though it is though start of the coldness.
ReplyDeleteBtw, your first photo will be my Fall wreath. I didn't hang it up as of yet as Sweden still have great last days of Summer.
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
Greetings from Stockholm,

Emily, I love seeing the fall pictures of your veranda! It looks so inviting and festive for the season! I've started my decor; but I still need to get out back. We love to sit out and watch football games on tv. So, I need to get some mums and fall accents to finish off the space.
ReplyDeleteRoll Tide Roll!!! THE COLORS for autumn *are* Crimson and White!!! Your flower arrangement is stunning!
ReplyDeleteDid you take that photo of Bryant-Denny Stadium from the Beta house?
We had tickets for the game but chickened out....we can't go to either Ole Miss or Georgia State because we have horse shows the next two weeks.
Lovely post, Emily! I'm starting to get excited about autumn.
xo,
RJ
Your beautiful pictures actually make me long for autumn to settle in!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so beautiful! I haven't decorated anything either but the nice weather we had yesterday prompted me to roast a turkey breast and make some dressing and pumpkin pie!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post, Emily. The colors, the beauty, the joy of autumn and oh! Those tomatoes. Yes, fall is here. It's really here...

ReplyDeleteHi Emily, I enjoyed looking back at your fall decor! I hope some cooler weather comes your way soon. Ours has just arrived, although we still have all green in the trees in southern CT. Linda
ReplyDeleteI love all your fall posts, and those "ugly" tomatoes--I've got a bunch growing in our backyard! A tomato fanatic I am. It has been raining non-stop for so many days now, but looking forward to some clear weather the end of the week. Thank you so much for your encouraging words on my autumn sideboard, and we did enjoy Julius Caesar!
