ON THE VERANDA



A touch of Autumn 




With summer temperatures well into October here, I am always a little late adding autumn touches to the veranda. With plans for guests for a late lunch and watching the game last Saturday I got busy putting the summer look away. I'm very pleased with the burlap runner I made for the table so all that was needed was to add a few flowers and plants from the garden center. Now, if the weather man will just send cooler temps so I can light a fire in the fireplace and enjoy dinner under the stars. 




































I have a few more plants to add to the urns and this will last until I'm ready to decorate for Christmas.

    Oh Karen, what a beautiful sitting area. I've probably mentioned this before, but I'd never leave. :)
    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all lanterns and these are perfect for the season. I might copy you...what else is new, right? ;) The burlap runner is a favorite of mine too, again for the simplicity of this versatile fabric which looks good all the time.
    Okay, more lanterns on my shopping list. ;)

    What a gorgeous veranda, Emily--wow! I love the blue chairs, the burlap runner you made, the shots of orange in your lovely flowers, and the Halloween cloche--it's all wonderful. It looks like the perfect spot for a meal under the stars! I loved hearing from you, and it reminds me I haven’t featured a Greek salad yet–what’s up with that??     O, Emily...I love your beautiful veranda. Those amazing blue chairs are on my OMYGOSH list.
    All your fallness is really pretty.
    I bet Connor is going to have fun at Halloween. It was always so much fun when our kids and grandkids were small..I just love Halloween. Now, will have to wait for the greatgrands to get big enuf to go. :))

    Emily, Emily, Emily, (have to make up for my last visit...teehee), glad you enjoyed my letter to autumn, whose name I could not resist capitalizing within the letter. :)
    Let's face it, I'm here to look at your gorgeous veranda and listen to your beautiful music again. It's so good to have a blogging neighbor who appreciates the music playing at our blogs. I think it makes them seem more personal and less like commercial web pages, don't you think?

    Emily, I would love to spend time out on your veranda. You've made it look comfortable and charming with all the special touches of fall. Your runner looks great! Don't you love the gauzy feel of that roll of burlap? It's so easy to work with. I like the lanterns filled with the mini pumpkins. Nice touch! Love those blue chairs too. So very French!

    I never get tired of looking at your lovely decorations. Lanterns are one of my favorite things and they go so beautiful with the burlap. Burlap is my new best friend--take a look at my fall booth I had this weekend. Have a great week.
