SAYING GOODBYE TO SUMMER
The thing we did most this summer was make several trips to the beach, we love it here. So, naturally we wanted one more trip to celebrate the official end of summer. While summer does not end officially until September 22, the start of the school year signals the beginning of fall.
Yellow flags flying is a warning of caution. This is the weekend before Isaac! Such a beautiful weekend, the calm before the storm if you will.

Oh.. and dont forget to check out the Blue Moon
A blue moon is full moon that occurs as the second full moon in a given month. Blue moons are not typically blue in color — that happens only, well, once in a blue moon, but there is the possibility for a hint of blue in any full moon

Oh, my goodness. That amkes me wish that we could start summer all over again, even though the temperatures here in Texas have us wishing for a peek at fall just about this time of year. Your little Connor is too adorable! Hope you have a great Pink Saturday!

Hi Emily, Your beach and sunset shots are wonderful and that little cutie is absolutely ADORABLE!!! We get ready for the fall every year by traveling to the far reaches of New Hampshire where there is a nip in the air and evening temps are easily in the 40s or lower! I'm going to put up some photos of it next week if I ever get a chance. I hope Connor enjoys his new year of school. Linda
ReplyDeleteHappy PS!!

ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pictures!! The sunset pics are some of the prettiest I've ever seen. We spent most of our summer having our kitchen remodeled so we missed our annual trip to the beach in May. However, we're hoping to go sometime later this month.
Your grandson is so cute. :) Thanks for sharing and Happy Seasonal Sunday.
Denise
I say goodbye to summer with college football. The only thing that keeps the transition from being sad.

Cindy
Hi Emily,
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful. and the hurricane flag was a bit eerie with it's pretty backdrop.
I have never liked "HOT" so the end of summer to me is always done by "A very warm WELCOME to Fall"! Fall is my VERY VERY Favorite time of year!
Your grandson is such a Handsome little guy! I LOVE the suspenders(I used to LOVE,LOVE,LOVE my 3 sons in suspenders), but YOUR LITTLE GUYS with the boots too is "PRICELESS"!!!

Beautiful, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Emily.
Beautiful photos, Emily, so breathtaking! I guess the way I say goodbye to summer is by pulling out my fall colored decor and replacing the summer ones. And cleaning lots of leaves from the deck, Ugh! lol....Christine
ReplyDeleteOh my that all looks so beautiful and so fun, I would have a tough time saying goodbye. Great post and pics. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! There's no place I would rather be than the ocean. We make summer last longer by living here in Florida! It's my favorite time of year! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Blue Monday this time.
ReplyDeleteMy BLUE.
Have a great week ahead!
Emily, it looks as if you have had a wonderful summer! It is so hot in Texas, that I try to push summer out as soon as possible. I have already pulled out my fall decor and shifted my mindset to fall...even though the temps are still in the high 90's!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, you do love the beach. I love this header. I have not been to the beach in three years. You must enjoy it for the both of us. I am beyond ready for cooler weather, no humidity, and no scary mosquitoes. hugs, olive

What a lovely summer! Happy Rednesday! Our summer is ongoing yet, with an overnight trip to Disney next week. It's the last hurrah of summer and the beginning of fall for us when we attend The Not So Scary Halloween Party in the evening at the Magic Kingdom.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful summer this year. Our last hurrah will be a Cranberry Fest way up North.
ReplyDeleteJoyce M
Hi ~ I'm hopping over from Rednesday. Fabulous summer's-end photos at the beach. I live in a beach community on the west coast ~ but our beaches aren't quite so lush

I am ready to give it up for cooler weather now.
Still having 100 degree weather here, tho.
Your summer looks simply wonderful! So much color, sunsets, flowers, beauty. Can't beat it!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful summer you had. We don't live by a beach, so it's usually the mountains for us. Hubby and I love to hike, but because of my knee surgery have not been able to this summer. Soon we will take a ride up the canyon to enjoy all of the beautiful leaves. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Hugs,
Jann
How very lovely. How to say goodbye to summer - I think we spend the day in our garden clearing away, bar-b-que and sit by the fire pit looking at the stars. I look forward to autumn, but there is a bittersweet moment when we do say goodbye to a season - lovely, thought-provoking post! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
