DOWN ON THE CHATTAHOOCHEE












In the community of Vinings in Atlanta you will find Canoe, one of the country's most acclaimed restaurants. Hidden away in this beautiful riverside setting along the banks of the Chattahoochee River you will find casual fine dining at its best. Canoe, known for distinctive design and original cuisine is a lovely setting for casual or special occasions. Beautiful white tents and garden room provide additional space for weddings and private functions. A natural lush landscape, these beautiful gardens and meandering walking paths invites guests to stroll while waiting for their table or after dinner under the magical lights. Canoe was featured in Bon Appetit, Food & Wine and Gourmet magazines to name a few. 
Jim and I dined here last weekend with my sister and brother-in-law to celebrate my sister's birthday. A beautiful setting, delicious food and great service, all for my beautiful sister. It was a perfect evening.
Of course I took my camera so I could capture the lovely riverbank setting in photographs.

If you're in the Atlanta area check out the charming village of historic old Vinings located on the banks of the rolling Chattahoochee River. Great for antiquing, quaint shops and great restaurants.

    If we lived in Atlanta, I would either live in Vinings or Virginia Highlands. What a lovely post! I have never eaten @ Canoe, but it looks like fun!

    Thanks for the memories. I grew up in Atlanta in the 50's and I remember fishing in the Chattahoochee. I also fished the river just below the dam in Buford. Vinings was just a wide spot in the road and not the upscale area it is now. Have you rafted the river? It can be quite exciting in the northern area. I am too old for that now. I will leave that to the young'uns.
    Thanks again for the memories and the lovely tour of the "Canoe". I will check it out on my next visit.

    Your pictures are stunning and the grounds could not be prettier. I love restaurants like this...dressy enough to use linen tablecloths but not the sort of place that you would have to put on your best frock for. The tomato salad is obviously gourmet and looks delicious!
