SUMMER'S BOUNTY

SUMMER FRESH PRODUCE

 tomatoes for white wednesday

Summer means wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables. On a recent trip to the State Farmers Market I had my camera in the car and snapped a few photographs of summer freshness right off the farm. This is one of the reasons I love summer.

Peaches

Cantaloupe

Watermelon

Okra

Green Beans

Peas

Mixed Vegetable Baskets

Tomatoes

Italian Bruschetta
using farm fresh tomatoes

Recipe for Italian Bruschetta here

The sweet face of one of the farmers I purchased my vegetables from. Farmers work so hard to make their crops, and as hard as they work everything depends on mother nature. This hard working farmer deserves every penny he charges. Thank You Sir!

  5. I so agree with you about the farmers. And your photos of the produce are fabulous. I love bruschetta and make it all summer. My favorite is the one you show with chopped tomatoes, garlic and basil. Happy summer!

  9. Hi Emily, I am so glad that I receive your new posts by email, as I still don't get them in Blooger. I tried unfollowing and re-following but nothing works. I would love a collection of these beautiful photos framed and hanging on a wall in my kitchen. I love the farmer at the end, he worked hard all his life, sweet old gent! xo,

  10. Your farmer's market looks so wonderful! It is just too hot here and the produce reached its peak weeks ago. I miss my tomatoes. I do have a neighbor who is still bringing me cucumbers, but the end is near.

  16. Few things make me as happy as shopping at a farmers market and taking in all of earths goodness!!! Your pictures are stunning and make me want to reach in and grab a peach and tomato. I made fresh brushetta the other day, and it was AMAZING, the tomatos still warm from the vine...isn't it the best!!!!!
